Beach Description
The small resort of Tresaith overlooks this attractive sandy beach and the waters of Cardigan Bay. The name Tresaith is derived from the River Saith, which cascades over the cliffs to Tresaith Beach. This waterfall provides a rare opportunity for a freshwater shower after a swim! Tresaith's fine golden sands and shallow waters are extremely popular with visitors.


Water Quality

No routine sewage discharge has been identified.


Bathing Safety

There is the possibility of being cut off by the tide to the north and south ends of the beach, but these areas are well signposted. There is usually a lifeguard/ beach officer on duty during July and August, 11am till 6pm. Lifebuoys are provided on the beach.


Litter

The beach is cleaned daily by the council between Easter and September. It is cleaned weekly the rest of the year. Dogs are banned on the beach between 1st May and 30th September.


Beach Facilities

Toilets are available, including facilities for the disabled. There is also a café, a first aid post and a shop. The beach has a slipway.


Seaside Activities

The beach is used by swimmers, surfers, windsurfers and sailors.


Wildlife And Walks

Tresaith is a good base from which to explore the surrounding coast line.


Getting There

From the A487 (north of Cardigan) take the turning at Sarnau and follow the signs for Tresaith.


Parking

Free car parking is available for a few cars, including spaces for the disabled.


Public Transport

The nearest train station is Aberystwyth and the following buses go through Tresaith: the 550 and 551 Aberystwyth to Cardigan route and the 552 Aberaeron to Cardigan route.
